1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Receipts platform, including our website, web application, and associated services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

If you are using the Platform on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or upload content to the Platform. By using the Platform, you confirm you meet this requirement.

The Platform is directed at users in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. We make no representation that the Platform is appropriate or available in other locations.

3. Account Registration

Certain features require registration. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or remain inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice where practicable.

4. The Platform

  • Provider discovery: search and discovery for beauty and hair service providers. Search may be used without registration, subject to these Terms.
  • Reviews: registered users may submit reviews, ratings, and media documenting service outcomes.
  • Provider portfolios: providers may maintain portfolio profiles and upload media demonstrating their work.
  • AI-assisted tagging: AI analysis suggests tags for uploaded media, and user confirmations or edits feed trust and ranking systems.
  • Discovery and ranking: providers are ranked using trust, portfolio evidence, review signals, and consensus data. We do not accept payment for ranking position.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

5. User Content

"User Content" means any text, images, video, tags, or other material you upload, submit, or transmit through the Platform.

By uploading User Content, you grant Receipts a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, and process your content to operate the Platform and to use anonymised, aggregated, or de-identified content for product improvement and analytics.

This licence does not extend to AI training dataset use unless you separately and explicitly opt in.

By uploading User Content, you warrant that:

  • You own the content or have the right to upload and share it.
  • The content does not infringe third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
  • You have obtained the consent of any identifiable individuals depicted in the content to be featured on the Platform.
  • The content complies with these Terms.

We do not verify or endorse User Content and may remove content that violates these Terms, with or without notice.

6. AI Training Data

Your User Content will not be used in AI training datasets unless you have separately and explicitly consented to training use.

  • Training consent is separate from display and platform-use consent.
  • Training consent is optional and withdrawable at any time.
  • Anonymous uploads are never used in training datasets.
  • Withdrawal applies to future dataset versions. Existing immutable dataset versions may remain in use where technical removal is infeasible.

7. Content Standards

You must not upload content that is unlawful, offensive, fraudulent, misleading, infringing, harmful, or depicts identifiable individuals without consent.

Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Fake, undisclosed incentivised, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited. Marketing or commissioned content will be clearly disclosed where required.

8. Providers

Providers must ensure that their profiles, portfolios, and submitted information accurately represent their services, qualifications, and work.

By uploading portfolio media depicting identifiable clients or other individuals, providers warrant that they have obtained explicit consent to feature those images on Receipts and to have them processed in line with these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Ranking position is determined solely by our trust-based systems and may change over time. We will not remove reviews solely because they are unfavourable.

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, software, trademarks, and proprietary content, is owned by or licensed to Receipts and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your User Content.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You must not scrape the Platform, use bots or automated tools without consent, interfere with security controls, impersonate others, create accounts to evade restrictions, or attempt to manipulate ranking, trust scoring, or consensus systems.

11. Third-Party Services

The Platform may integrate with third-party services such as authentication, analytics, hosting, and monitoring providers. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not verify or guarantee the quality, safety, or suitability of any provider listed on the Platform. Rankings reflect product signals and are not professional recommendations.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Receipts' total liability to you in connection with these Terms or the Platform will not exceed the greater of £100 or the amount you have paid to Receipts in the twelve months before the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill. Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time via account settings or by contacting [CONTACT EMAIL]. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for a material breach or with 14 days' notice for other reasons.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify registered users by email and post the updated version on the Platform with a revised effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
