What Receipts stores in your browser, why, and for how long. Optional analytics stays off until you turn it on.

Your choices

Analytics is the only optional category. Everything else keeps you signed in or remembers a setting you chose.

  • Turn analytics on or off in cookie settings, at any time. With it off, we count visits without any identifier.
  • Appearance, remembered searches and recommendations live in account settings.
  • We do not use advertising cookies and we do not record sessions.
  • Error and performance reports from your browser to Grafana are part of analytics. They start only when you turn analytics on, without reloading the page, and stop when you turn it off. While on, they keep a session identifier for this tab.

    Recognises this browser at sign-in, so we email you only when your account is used on one we haven't seen before. After a passkey sign-in, we also remember on our side which account it was, so next time the browser asks for that passkey first; the cookie itself holds only a random id.

    Carries a short-lived sign-in error and support reference to the login page.

    Lets you continue your own image uploads and searches before signing in. A port suffix separates development sites.

    Helps live updates reconnect and finish pending message or read-status acknowledgements. Stores progress and identifiers, not message text.

Analytics

Optional identifiers, stored only when analytics is on. With analytics off, Receipts measures anonymous totals without these identifiers.

    Holds a support session while authorised Receipts staff act in one account; never set for that account's own browser.

Removing stored information

Clear cookies and device data

Use your browser’s site-data controls, or clear Receipts browser data in Account privacy settings. This may sign you out or reset device preferences.

Records saved to your account stay with your account.

When stored items expire

Expired browser-storage records are ignored when read. They may remain on your device until cleared or replaced.
