Questions

Short answers about how Receipts works.

Using Receipts

What is Receipts?

A way to find a beauty professional by the work they have done. Each result shows their own portfolio, reviews tied to a visit, services and prices.

Who can use it?

Receipts is in private preview, so access opens in stages. With an account you can save looks, plan an appointment and message professionals.

How are results ordered?

By what you searched for and the evidence behind each professional: confirmed work and reviews tied to a visit. Nobody can pay to move up.

How does search read what I type?

Type it as you would say it, like “knotless braids under £80 in Peckham”. Each part becomes a pill: a firm one must match, a light one only changes the order, and dashed words were not understood yet. To rule a detail out, write “without beads” or put a minus before it: “-beads”. The words you type stay in your browser tab; they are not saved to your account.

What do the labels on reviews mean?

Each label says who proved the visit: Booked on Receipts (booked or messaged through Receipts, with the visit on record), Visit checked by Receipts (our staff saw evidence of the visit) or Visit confirmed by the business. A review with no proof stays visible with no label, and every review shows the month of the visit.

Does it cost anything to use?

No. Searching, saving looks and contacting professionals are free.

Why does my statement show a different name?

You pay whoever sells the booking, and their name is on your statement. That is usually the salon. If the person who did your work rents a chair there, it is them. The booking summary names who you are paying before you pay.

How do I delete my account?

In account settings, under Privacy. You can download a copy of your data there first.

For professionals

How do I get my page?

Claim it with evidence that the business is yours, such as a public link that names you. A member of staff approves each claim.

Do you take a commission?

Never on your regulars. When Receipts brings you a new client, Basic pays 10% of their first visit, never more than £20; paid plans never do.

My payout bounced. What now?

The money goes back to your Stripe balance, not anywhere else. Open Settings, Payments, choose Update bank details, and Stripe sends it again to the new account. A bounced payout is usually a closed account or a name that doesn't match the bank's.

What does a paid plan add?

Ninety days of insight into the searches you match, the photos that bring enquiries, reply tools and, on Studio, tools for a team. Being found stays free.

Can I advertise?

Yes, with a labelled placement in Discover or after the similar professionals on a related page. It never appears in search results and never changes ranking.

The map view, online payment for plans and sponsored delivery are built but switched off during the preview. We will say here when each one opens.
